I actually heard Wes Montgomery for the first time on Thievery Corporation's Verve Album. I must also admit I grew up listening to speed metal bands such as: Megadeth, Exodus, Slayer, etc, etc. Speed metal fans are probably the harshest and most demanding fans due to the guitarist's ability to play fast rhythm's, and clean, but warp speed scale and arpeggio solo's. So I must thank Thievery for continually broadening my musical horizons. Wes Montgomery is truly a bad ass composer of epic proportions.
