United Future Organization
The United Future Organization’s synthesis of trip-hop, acid-jazz, and spy-soundtrack grooves made them pioneers of the acid-jazz sound. Their remix of "Loud Minority" was one of the highlights on the seminal acid-jazz compilation, Rebirth of Cool Volume I. One of the few acid-jazz outfits that remains as relevant now as at the height of the acid-jazz movement, they are known for their clever remixes and fantastic live shows. Comprised of Tokyo club DJs Tadashi Yabe, Toshio Matsuura, and French expatriate Raphael Sebbag, they joined forces in 1990, and soon after became the driving force in Tokyo’s underground club scene. Underground insiders including Gilles Peterson are already championing UFO’s gorgeous, downtempo remix of Sarah Vaughan’s "Summertime".
