Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue are joining the Dave Matthews Band Caravan for one of their shows on Governors Island <http://www.dmbcaravan.com/> in New York City. The festival is taking place August 26-28, 2011. Trombone Shorty and Dave Matthews last played together in November 2010, when Trombone Shorty supported DMB's last four shows before their hiatus from extensive touring. Dave Matthews called Shorty up to join DMB during their set each night. Trombone Shorty knocked the crowd out playing and soloing on "What Would You Say" in Atlanta, "Corn Bread" in Charleston, SC, "Jimi Thing" on the first night in Charlottesville, VA and "Corn Bread" on the second, the closing night of the DMB tour.
In addition to Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and a full DMB set every night, other artists announced so far include Dispatch; The Roots; Gogol Bordello; Josh Ritter & The Royal City; Bela Fleck and the Flecktones; The Head and the Heart; Vieux Farka Toure; David Wax Museum with many more to be announced soon.
