King Britt

Biography

Born and based in Philadelphia, King Britt has long provided a groove-driven mix of Philly-influenced soul, hip hop, and jazz for the clubs. His long list of remix and production credits include Tori Amos, Jazzanova, G-Love & Special Sauce, United Future Organization and Gilles Peterson, and his remix of Macy Gray’s "Do Something" earned him a platinum record. Some might know him for his role in Digable Planets. His Sylk 130 projects, When the Funk Hits the Fan and Re-Members Only, pay homage to the ’70s and ’80s soul, respectively, that shaped him musically. Likewise, Britt is a true jazz fan and knew from the outset that he wanted to remix Tony Scott’s "Hare Krishna". To his own admission, it’s one of his favorite remixes in a long time.
