Elvis Costello Delivers “Little Boxes” on Showtime’s Weeds
*Costello To Sing Title Song on Second Season Premiere Of Highly Acclaimed Showtime Series*
July 27, 2006- Elvis Costello has been tapped by the producers of Showtime’s Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated series Weeds to sing the title song “Little Boxes” for the second season premiere episode. Written and originally performed by Malvina Reynolds, a different musician will be heard in each week of the series, with Costello earning the leadoff spot on August 14th. Other artists performing the track this season include Englebert Humperdinck, Death Cab For Cutie, Ozomatli, and Regina Spektor.
Costello just recently completed his highly acclaimed ‘River in Reverse’ tour with Allen Toussaint, in support of their “stunning” (NY Daily News) and “inspired” (Associated Press) new album of the same name (Verve Forecast). It features a mix of songs from Toussaint’s catalogue, songs co-written by the pair, and Costello’s wrenching original title track.
